Russia unaware of Viterra, LDC stopping Russian grain exports

MOSCOW, Mar 30 (PRIME) -- The Agriculture Ministry did not receive notifications on stopping Russian grain exports from traders Viterra and Louis Dreyfus Company (LDC), the ministry said in a statement late on Wednesday.

"No information about Viterra and LDC discontinuing exports of Russian grain has arrived to the Agriculture Ministry of Russia," the ministry said.

Russian subsidiary of U.S. company Cargill notified the ministry earlier in March of a plan to suspend exports of Russian grain in the next agricultural year that will start on July 1.

Bloomberg reported on Wednesday that Viterra would make the same decision.

The Russian Union of Grain Exporters released a post on its blog on Telegram that the Cargill’s quitting triggered speculations about nearly all foreign grain traders leaving the market.
